The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

Per the notice below, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued medication safety tips for older adults.

Whether you’re settling into your 60s or heading into your 90s, be careful when taking medicines, herbal preparations and supplements.

Why the special concern?  The older we get, the more likely we are to use more medicines.  That can increase the chance of harmful side effects and drug interactions.

As we age, physical changes can affect the way our body handles medications and how medicines work, which can lead to complications.  Even if your medications have worked well for you over the years, they might need to be adjusted or changed later in life.  Here are some important safety tips.
