The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

This article, co-authored by the Network and fellow Act for Public Health partners and published in Health Affairs Forefront, discusses the impact of the new, and less friendly, legal environment on public health decision-making.  It provides an overview of the COVID-19-driven legislative and judicial backlash on the legal powers of public health officials and highlights two examples from Ohio and Michigan in which the impacts have already been felt.
