The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.

In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.

Healthcare Delivery of Clinical Preventive Services for People with Disabilities

(Systematic Review, released on September 16, 2024)

The purpose of this systematic review was: 1) to document and summarize reported barriers and facilitators to the receipt of selected preventive services among people with disabilities; and 2) to identify and synthesize the literature on the effectiveness of interventions to improve receipt of preventive services among people with disabilities.

Technical Brief Now Available

Evidence Map on Home and Community-Based Services and Person-Centered Care for Older Adults

(Technical Brief, released on September 5, 2024)

The purpose of this technical brief was to map the existing literature on home and community-based services in terms of interventions, populations, outcomes, person-centeredness, and relevant quality measures, and identify research gaps for older adults.

The Effective Health Care Program is committed to providing the best available evidence on the outcomes, benefits and harms, and appropriateness of drugs, devices, and health care services and by helping health care professionals, patients, policymakers, and health care systems make informed health care decisions.  The program partners with research centers, academic institutions, health professional societies, consumer organizations, and other stakeholders to conduct research, evidence synthesis, evidence translation, dissemination, and implementation of research findings.
