The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.
In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.
The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

Assistant Professor at the Icahn School of Medicine - Mt. Sinai, practicing Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology. A.I. Research focusing on prediction of outcomes for malignant and premalignant diseases. Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry where he collaborates with other faculty to further our understanding of how students learn by using data analytics.
In November 2023, the Harvard School of Dental Medicine held an inaugural Global Symposium on AI and Dentistry. Experts shared insights as to how AI could lead to earlier diagnosis of oral diseases and put more tools in the hands of patients. The majority of dental practices, dental schools, oral health researchers, and policymakers are rapidly positioning themselves to evolve with the dawning AI movement in oral health care. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) has increased dramatically in recent years with the latest advances in generative AI. However, learning to assess AI algorithm performance and possible ethical concerns have not been a significant focus. This course will address the current AI tools available that relate to oral health and integrate a discussion of ethical issues that should be considered when using AI.
