The Ninth District Dental Society was formed in 1909 and renamed to the Ninth District Dental Association in 2002. We have a membership of over 1500 dentists in 5 counties: Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess, Orange and Putnam.
In its quest to serve both the public and the profession, the Ninth District embodies the highest ideals.
The mission of the 9th District Dental Association is to serve and support its members and the public by improving the oral health of our community through Advocacy, Continuing Education and Camaraderie.

Dr. Mistry is a Certified Pediatric Dentist, who retired after 38 yrs of Private Practice in Westchester. For the past 12 years she has been Certified as a Yoga Teacher 500 Hrs., A Restorative Yoga & Rise Resiliency facilitator by Kripalu School of Yoga, MA and also Certified in Yoga as Medicine and Yoga-Meditation for Anxiety, Depression, Addiction & Recovery.
For 12 years she has been giving Yoga-Wellness lectures and workshops for dental professionals at AAPD, NYSDA, 9th.Dental Association & GNYDM.
Past President & Chair of Substance Abuse & Well-Being Committee of 9th District Dental Association & currently serving on the ADA Dentist Wellness Advisory Council.
FREE YOGA MAT TO EACH ATTENDEE!
Synopsis: Explore and experience evidence-based ,yoga-breath-body-mind integrated, resiliency-centering tools to navigate stress, embody calm, clarity of mind, and connecting to the present moment for optimal physical-mental-emotional health and to create self-care & work-life balance.
Participants will do short, gentle sitting, standing & yoga-mat practices of yogic-breathing, posture alignments, mindful-movements, stretches & yoga poses to increase skeletal-muscular strength, flexibility, mobility and to prevent or reduce pain or problems in the joints, spine, neck, shoulders, and upper & lower back. Mindfulness-meditation relaxation tools to relax-renew-recharge mind & body that can be practiced by all, at anytime, anyplace whether at work or at home.
Participants will learn:
- To take quick-short breaks, 3C centering (embody Calm, cultivate Clarity of mind & deepen the Connection to the present moment) to de-stress, increase resiliency to burn out and enhance self-care, work-life balance & well-being.
- Sitting & standing short 5-15-minute practices of yogic-breathing, postural alignments, mindful-movements, stretches, yoga poses & mindfulness-mind-body relaxation .
- On the Yoga-mat gentle restorative yoga practices for 5-15 minutes to relax & release mind-body tension, reduce or prevent ergonomic and skeletal-muscular related issues & pain especially related to joints, spine, upper & lower back, neck & shoulders.
- Mindfulness-based-stress reduction (MBSR) relaxation tools to reduce anxiety, relax-renew-recharge mind & body and help to sleep better.
- Meditation, Love & Kindness Meta-Meditation & Gratitude tools.
